Composed of 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre the 2016 'Cuvée du Vatican’ begins with aromas of raspberries and cherries woven together with garrigue, licorice and spices all developing in the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium body with a lovely velvery texture, which is laced with nice mineralality. Red fruits, spices and wild herb flavors continue to linger all the way through the finish.
