The 2016 from Domaine Consonniere is a blend of mainly Grenache, with some Mourvèdre. It offers seductive aromas of dark berries, cherry, garrigue, smoke, leather, and vanilla. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body, with fine grained tannins and a supportive backbone, followed by concentrated fruits and wonderful savory flavors. This red is accessible today and will soften nicely with a few years of cellaring. Drink over the next decade plus.
