The Grand Vin from Clos Saint-Michel is a blend of Grenache and Syrah that begins with lovely aromas of dark cherries and spiced plums which are joined by exotic spices, smoke, incense, lavender, black olives, iron and white pepper nuances which all take shape and burst from the glass. On the palate this displays wonderful medium to full-bodied texture which is structured with round, velvety tannins that make for a wonderful seamless quality which persists through the finish. This is a beautifully made wine which should have a brilliant future ahead, but it will require some time.
