The 2017 Clos du Caillou 'Le Caillou' is absolutely fantastic in this vintage. This blend of 70% Grenache 15% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah instantly begins with wonderful aromatics of black raspberries and plums which are laced with spices, pepper, lavender, herbs licorice and hints of smoke all taking shape. On the palate this is Medium-plus bodied with a gorgeous velvety texture and remarkable overall balance. It continues to display wonderful concentration as well as gorgeous freshness and through the finish. While this is already sensational today, it also has the potential to age beautifully.
