The 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine de Ferrand is simply stunning. Mainly Grenache, blended with small portions of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Bourboulenc, and Cinsault, this is both elegant and delicious. After some extended air contact this begins to open up with aromas of cherry, ripe plum, red currant, along with spice, lavender, earth and hints of smoke. It is a medium-bodied red with incredible balance and finesse. This is a very impressive wine today and it also has the potential to age beautifully over the next 10-15 years.
