The 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape ‘La Chaise des Papes’ from Domaine Albin Jacumine begins with inviting aromas of ripe raspberry, violets, licorice, lavender, white pepper and exotic spices. On the palate this has a medium body with fresh red fruits and white pepper notes building into the long, silky finish. This is a lovely effort which should evolve nicely and continue to gain complexity over the next decade.
