The 2008 'Cuvée Laurence' from Domaine du Pegaü is a dazzling wine, elegant and refined, yet plenty of depth. It instantly captivates you with seductive aromas of dark cherries, blackberry, smoke, burnt embers, roasted coffee, leather, licorice, roasted herbs and hints of loam which soar from the glass. This is most impressive for its impeccable balance, focus and beautiful soft velvety texture that all ends wrapped up in an amazingly fresh, silky finish. Just a phenomenal wine that is drinking beautifully right now. The 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre and 10% other permitted varieties used to blend this cuvée come from soils mainly covered with pebbles, clay and limestone mixture tends to iron and sand.
