The 2015 Domaine du Galet des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an excellent showing. As this begins to open it releases aromas of red fruits and ripe plums woven together with spices, black olives and floral notes. This impresses on the palate with its gorgeous round, velvety texture and wonderful overall balance and concentration as the core of sweet red fruits expands seamlessly on to the long, spice-tinged finish. While this certainly offers early appeal, this should also evolve gracefully over the course of the next decade. (Best 2020-2030) - December, 2017 (JD)
