The Croix de Bois is an absolutely wonderful showing in this vintage. It begins with a complex profile of black raspberries and plum are woven together with lavender, exotic spices, licorice, cured meat, white pepper, wet stones and savory nuances all taking shape. On the palate this is full and seamless, with a gorgeous round, texture and striking finesse making it impossible to resist. It continues to impress with its excellent depth, with a core of ripe fruits which expand on to the long, beautifully polished finish. This is a total knockout from Chapoutier which should drink beautifully for years to come. (Best 2019-2033) - December, 2017 (JD)
