The 2015 Vieilles Vignes Roussanne is gorgeous showing from Château de Beaucastel. Displaying a lovely golden hue, this slowly opens to incredible aromatics of orchard fruits, lemon oil. honeydew melon, nutmeg, beeswax, brioche with a touch of wild mushrooms all takeing shape. The mid-palate is silky and is incredibly seamless with wonderful acidity and minerality which becomes even more evident with time. The texture is downright ethereal and poached pear, green papaya, and white peach flavors combine with a touch of browned butter. The mouthfeel is downright unctuous as the complex flavor profile makes you savor every sip. While this certinaly shows plenty of appealing characteristics, this is ultimately an age-worthy blanc which will beed serious cellaring before it shows its best.
