The 2012 Domaine Lécheneaut Morey-Saint-Denis is sourced from 35 year-old vines from 3 parcels: 80% from Pierre Virant on the top of the slope, above the grand cru Clos Saint Denis, 10% from les Pourroux near Chambolle and 10% from a parcel in the south called Les Cognees. This instantly opens with seductive aromas of black cherries and plums leading the way to scorched earth, smoke, Asian spices and wet stones, which all come together beautifully in this absolutely seamless Morey-Saint-Denis. It continues to impress with it's gorgeous soft, round texture, underlying acidity and ultra-silky finish. Even at this young age this is an absolute pleasure to drink and should continue to improve over the next decade. (Best 2017-2028) - September, 2015 (JD)
