The 1998 Clos de Tart slowly opens to aromas of dried red fruits and a slight pruney character along with dried exotic spices, white pepper and hint of wet stones which all come together in the glass. On the palate this is refined and silky, as it continues to deliver dried red fruits, spices and mineral accents. It seems the ’98 may have already surpassed its optimal drinking window, however given the history of this wine, I suspect it could still hang on a bit longer. - September, 2016 (JD)
