The 2016 Cairanne opens to profound aromas of black cherries and blueberries laced with lavender, wet stones, licorice and hints of exotic spices. Full, round and plush, this seductive red releases flavors of dark fruits, chocolate and spices which expand seamlessly across the palate. It remains beautifully balanced, underlined with a gorgeous steak of acidity leading up to the long, juicy finish. While this is extremely pleasing now, expect it to continue to drink well with some short-term cellaring. (Best 2018-2028) - November, 2017 (JD)
