2005 was an excellent growing season, which saw near perfect conditions at harvest. This incredible vintage champagne opens with aromas of brioche toast, fresh starfruit, mandarin orange blossom and shitake mushroom. This wine has flavors of gala apple, cut grass, dried apricot and Meyer lemon zest. The bubbles are delicate and glide along the tongue throughout this ethereal textural experience. There is a nice rich and layered approach to the wine, that finishes with vanilla cream. The structure of this wine and balance, combined with the richness and effervescence is what makes this so special. While this will age gracefully in the bottle for many years it is nearly impossible to resist right now. (Best 2016-2030) - January, 2015 (OB)
