The 2014 'Alte Reuben' Silvaner by Dr. Heyden is a glorious value wine by this estate. Planted amongst blue slate in the town of Oppenheim, this wine has aromatics of pink grapefruit blossom, lemon zest, and wet stone. There are flavors of green papaya, starfruit, and cut grass with hints of vanilla on the finish. Really lovely and polished wine, with an impressive effervescence. (Best 2016-2023) - March, 2016 (OB)
