The 2018 Spätlese by Robert Weil opens with an exotic bouquet of allspice infused apple and suggestions of petrol that all take shape in the glass. Bright and intense, with a wonderful sense of minerality, the wine shines with its lovely citrus zest, peach pit and wet stone character on the palate. Fantastic now, this will cellar well for a decade.
