The 2011 Brunello Riserva from La Gerla is a fantasic showing in this vintage. It is sourced from the best grape selection from the single vineyard of Vigna gli Angeli. Showing wonderful purity, this sensational Brunello begins with wonderful aromas of red berries, cherries, tobacco, spices, dried florals and hints of leather all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied with outstanding overall balance and focus, as everything comes together beautifully in this silky, yet precisely structured red. The 2011 is shaping up nicely after a few years in bottle, and should go on to have a brilliant future.
