The 2013 Brunello Riserva from Fattoria dei Barbi is a faboulas showing in this vintage. As this slowly unwinds in the glass it begins to relase pretty aromas of cherries and dried berries which are woven together with citrus peel, leather with hints of dried tobacco and dried black tea leaf all taking shape. On the palate this is medium-bodied and beautifully structured with fine-grained tannins. This displays some austerity, but eventually softens up nicely with extended air contact and begins to reveal a lovely silky quality, which is framed by notable acidity and a long pretty finish. This is a gorgeous, classiclly made Brunello from Stefano Cinelli Colombini and will require at least a few more years in bottle before it begins to hit its stride, that being said, it should go on to have a marvelous future for many years to come.
