The 2014 Brunello from Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona shows wonderful elegance and refinement as it opens to aromas of red plums, raspberries and red currants which are laced with wet stone nuances. On the palate this possesses a medium body with a silky texture and sweet tannins which lead into the simple but harmonious finish. This is a fantastic Brunello from Paolo Bianchini in this challenging vintage, and while this will be accessible early, it should also continue to drink beautifully over the course of the next decade.
