LA RASINA Brunello di Montalcino 1997

The 1997 La Rasina Brunello di Montalcino displays a garnet color with very slight bricking on the edge. It offers aromas of dark berries and some tar, on the palate there's loads of plums with sweet blackberry fruit framed by sweet toasty oak. A hint of licorice on the mid palate. Well-integrated tannins with a velvety finish but a slight bit of astringency on the back end. Overall a nice wine but time to drink it up. Drink through 2014 - August, 2013 (JR)
