The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is an excellent showing from Lisini in this vintage. This classicly styled Brunello slowly opens to beautiful aromas of fresh red cherries and plums, which are nuanced by pretty florals, spices and hints of leather notes all coming together beautifully. Medium to full-bodied, refined and well-structured with fine, silky tannins and a long, lingering finish of red fruits and spices make this completely compelling. While this is already displaying plenty of early appeal, it will require a bit more bottle age before it begins to hit its stride. (Best 2019-2030) - February, 2017 (JD)
