Located in La Morra, the Brunate Cru is located on the south side towards Barolo, and is planted to vines is averaging 52-years-old, in a mix of limestone and clay soils. The 2015 spent roughly 30-months between French oak barrels and Slovenian oak casks and it begins with wonderful aromatics of fresh red berries, florals, spices, licorice and herbs that all take shape and burst from the glass. On the palate this is beautifully structured, displaying excellent overall balance and depth with a lovely core of ripe fruit that expands through the long finish. Brunate looks as if it will be most accessible wine in this 2015 lineup from Vietti, however it also possesses the potential for a fabulous evolution ahead.
