The 2017 Barolo from Mario Marengo is an absolutely lovely showing. It instantly begins to impress with fresh and inviting aromas of dark cherries, strawberries, raspberries which are woven together with florals, spices, herbs and wet stones that all come together in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and beautifully structured around fine, silky tannins that are nice and chewy through the finish. This is simply delicious and quite accessible upon release, and should continue evolve nicely with additional bottle age.
