The Margheria is an excellent showing from Azelia in 2011, instantly delivering wonderful aromas of ripe cherries, red fruits and hints of blueberry which are followed by intense fresh violets, leather, tobacco, licorice, sweet spices and some initial hints of vanilla, which eventually begins to fade away with air. It is impeccably structured with fine-tannins that grip a firm hold on the long lingering finish. This continues to evolve with each second in the glass and even begins to take on some rustic characteristics with air. Today, the Margheria shows some wonderful potential, but this will ultimately require some additional bottle age. (Best 2017-2030) - June, 2015 (JD)
