The 2012 Ginestra Barolo from Paolo Conterno is a gorgeous effort in this vintage. This bursts open with aromas of dark cherries and strawberries followed by minerals, fresh cut floral and a touch of new leather. On the palate this shows a fantastic ripeness at its core with incredible overall structure, balance and poise along with a silky, finessed mouthfeel from start to finish. This single vineyard Barolo from the Ginestra Cru is already quite accessible and will only need minimal cellaring before begins to show its best. (Best from 2018-2029) - July, 2016 (JD)
