AZELIA Barolo 'San Rocco' 2012

The 2012 San Rocco is a wonderfully made Barolo which offers aromas dried cherries and raspberries woven together with dried violets, eucalyptus, licorice, dried herbs and fresh minerals, which all take shape as this slowly unwinds in the glass. On the palate this shows demonstrates remarkable overall structure, balance and focus and is supported by beautiful firm, yet well polished tannins that lead into the long chewy finish. The San Rocco shows the potential to age gracefully for years to come and will ultimately be best with just a few more years of bottle age. (Best 2018-2029) - July, 2016 (JD)
