The Castiglione is an absolutely gorgeous Barolo, bursting open with vivid aromas of fresh strawberries and red berries woven together with pretty floral and exotic spices resonating beautifully in the glass. This shows remarkable overall balance and depth with a wonderful silky texture which continues on through the long lingering finish. The purity and focus is exceptional and this is already drinking beautifully at this young age, however it should continue to take shape over the next decade. The grapes for this Barolo are selected from vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto, Monforte, Barolo and Novello where the vines are planted an average of 4.800 vines per hectare. then aged for 26 months in casks. The wine spent 26 months in casks and was blended in stainless steel tanks 8 months before bottling.
