The 2008 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Santo Spirito is alluring, with beautiful fresh crushed cherries, plum, smoke, licorice and leather. There is a gorgeous layer of underlying minerality, which keeps things fresh and lively. This stays refined and elegant from the start to the long pretty finish. One of the most memorable wines I have ever had from Etna and it rivals the great wines of Piedmont. While irresistible now, this could easily last a decade in the cellar.
