The 2015 'Feudo di Mezzo' is a drop dead gorgeous wine from Marco DeGrazia. This blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio is sourced from the largest cru in the appellation, with soils consisting of black volcanic ash and basaltic pebbles. The wine itself is elegant and refined, with pretty aromas of fresh sliced strawberries and wild berries woven together with spices, floral and orange zest nuances all taking shape. On the palate this beautifully textured with fine, silky tannins and wonderful overall balance and finesse. The finish is long and sleek leaving lasting impression. This is a complete success in this vintage and may be the finest wines I have tasted from this cru. Readers should expect this to age gracefully for a decade and likely beyond.
