This is a simply gorgeous Rosso made from 98% Nerello mascalese, 2% Nerello Cappuccio, from vines between 40 and 100 years old in the Santo Spirito cru. It immediately opens to attractive aromas of bright red fruits, strawberries, spices and florals with underlying nuances of tarragon, orange zest and wet stones adding further complexity. On the palate this is elegant, balanced and beautifully structured with round, polished tannins, combined with excellent depth and precise concentration. The finish is long and expansive leaving behind a mouthful of juicy red fruits and spices lingering on. This is a extremely impressive showing from this cru, and there is little doubt this will age remarkably well. (Best 2018-2030) - Decemner, 2017 (JD)
