The Asili is gorgeous, but seems to still be the most restrained of the ’04’s at this point, however it remains to brings out the elegance and classy style of the vintage. It brings beautiful aromas of fresh dark cherries and strawberry, which are followed by licorice, dried violets and a hint of tar. It’s well structured and tightly wound with a long chewy finish that is laced with minerals and wild berries. Although it becomes approachable with air contact, it will be at its best in a few more years. (Best 2013-2023) - December, 2013 (JD)
