The 2006 Paolo Bea Montefalco Rosso Riserva Vigna Pipparello is another excellent wine from the Bea family. It offers an attractive bouquet of wild berries, roasted plum, dried herbs, vanilla, licorice and dried leather all mixed together lovely earthy characteristics. Medium to full-bodied, with a sleek texture and fine tannins lead into the long, caressing finish. Consists of 60% Sangiovese, 25% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino. This is approachable now and should drink excellent for at least a decade. (Best 2013-2024) - December, 2012 (JD)
