The 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano offes aromas of fresh crushed cherries, spices tobacco and hints of leather all coming together and bursting from the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and nicely balanced with a lovely combination of ripe fruits and acidity leading up to the spice-tinged finish. This is accessible now and there is lovely potential for this to evolve nicely over the next few years.
