The 2015 Chianti Classico begins with inviting aromatics of cherries, exotic spices, tobacco, grilled herbs and earthy nuances all taking shape in the glass. This medium-bodied red is still a bit austere and on the leaner side with a notable layer of acidity at its core. The finish shows notable length, and is marked by cherry and spice characteristics. While I suspect this will soften and become a bit more approachable over the next few years, I suspect it will hits its peak within the decade.
