Composed of Magliocco, Mangiaguerra and Cabernet Sauvignon the 2011 ‘Trupià’ from Cantine Rombolà opens to inviting aromatics of blackberries and dark cherries along side roasted coffee with underlying hints of cured meats and sweet spices all coming together in the glass. The palate is full and velvety with remarkable balance of fruit and acidity leading into the finish, which is marked by coffee and spice notes. Overall, this is an impressive wine from Alfonso Rombolà which is drinking beautifully right now. (Best 2017-2021) - June, 2017 (JD)
