The 2008 Sperino Lessona is an absolute gorgeous wine from Paolo De Marchi. The 95% Nebbiolo & 5% Vespolina comes from the Ormeggio and Castagnola vineyards in Lessona and the Cova vineyard in Castello. It brings fantastic aromas of dark ripe cherries, spices and spearmint with some smoke and tar notes layered in. The structure and finesse this wine brings is remarkable, not to mention the long chewy finish that lingers on and on. This beauty will evolve beautifully in the cellar over the next decade and even longer. (Best 2016-2029) -
