The 2016 Poggio Siresa Amarone della Valpolicella opens to inviting aromatics of dark cherries and black plums along with mocha, flowers, licorice and hints of leather that all emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body with notable poise, as it gives way to a ripe core of sweet red and dark berries, spices and chocolate covered raisins that continue to linger on the supple finish. Delicious now and should evolve nicely over the next few years.
