The 2017 'Le Sabbie dell’Etna' is an excellent blend of Catarratto and Carricante, sourced from the Cavanera Estate, situated 720 meters on the north side of Mt. Etna. The fruit spent 3 months "sur lie", on fine lees in stainless steel tanks with daily shaking, prior to 2 months in bottle. The wine itself begins with pretty aromas of orchard fruits, white peaches and floral blossoms, underlined by a nice touch of mineral nuances. On the palate this is fresh and inviting, showing wonderful balance, with a lovely combination of fruit and saline minerality that persists through the finish. This Bianco is already drinking remarkably well, however it should also be interesting to watch it evolve over the next year or two.
