Meroi's 2010 Refosco from the Dominin vineyard is dazzling display of the varietal, and although Refosco is not commonly found outside of Friuli, this is a wine that I would not stop searching for. This is a concentrated, powerful style, yet with an elegant side. It’s rich and layered with aromas and flavors of dark cherry, cassis, fresh violets, spices, pepper and graphite. The remarkable structure and finesse are accompanied by an incredible long finish that goes on and on.
