The 2016 ‘Piastraia’ is a fantastic showing which is composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese. It opens to aromas of ripe strawberries and red plums which are woven together with nuances of cinnamon and spices. The palate is full-bodied and well structured with notable tannins present, but not intrusive. This leaves a lasting impression as it comes to an end with a long lingering finish. This is simply delicious now, but should show even better after a few years of bottle age.
