The 2013 'Guado al Tasso' is a bold, seductive blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. This opens with complex aromatics of black cherries, crème de cassis, tobacco, sweet spices, anise and toasted nuances all soaring from the glass of this profound wine. The full body is dense and supple, with nicely polished tannins, leading to flavors of black cherries, cassis, sweet spices, violets and coffee grounds, which are delivered though a soft and plush mouth feel leading into the long finish. While this will benefit from needs another year or two of bottle age, this seductive red is just about impossible to resist right now. (Best 2018-2033) - June, 2017 (JD)
