2013 Top 100 - Rank # 88
The 2007 L.A. Cetto Nebbiolo ‘Reserva Privada’ is a wonderful example of the terroir of Baja and a testament that shows high quality wine can from a relatively undiscovered region of the world. At first this was a on the tighter side, but as it open up there was a lovely bouquet of dark cherry, tobacco, baking spices, pepper, tar, crushed berries, earth and flowers. As this becomes in contact with air more fruit becomes even more expressive on the nose. This wine has the characteristics of a good Barolo from a ripe vintage. The finish is long, elegant and explosive leaving behind mouth watering dark fruits. You can approach this now, but I would love to revisit this in a decade and see where it ends up. (Best 2013-2025) - October, 2013 (MD)
