The 2016 Warre’s Vintage Port is an absolutely sensational showing, which is composed of 46% Vinha Velha (old, mixed vines), 37% Touriga Nacional and 17% Touriga Franca. This beautifully made wine from Charles Symington & Mário Natário begins with seductive aromatics of ripe dark cherries, blackberry coulis, violets and lovey sweet spice nuances adding even further complexity. This is a wine of incredible structure and power, yet it’s beautifully balanced, and possesses a striking sense of elegance and finesse. This continues to impress with its gorgeous textural richness, together with outstanding depth and concentration all the way through the long, enveloping finish, which lingers on and on. This is a total beauty, and while already quite appealing, it is ultimately built for ages and should go on to drink beautifully for many years to come.
