January, 2012 - New world Pinot fans beware, the 2008 Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir is Old World and bringing the funk!!! It is light in color with a somewhat cloudy appearance. The nose has lots going on with barnyard, tree sap, cured meat, spice, and mint all wrapped up in fresh strawberries. On the palate this is elegant with a medium-body, live acidity, ultra silky and polished tannins that glide effortlessy into the finish where it pick is more spice and some sweet red fruit.
