The 2016 Boukenhoutskloof Syrah is a simply sensational wine. On the nose this takes on smoky, earthy nuances as well as creosote with shades of Provencale herbs and copious dark fruits that all mingle nicely in the glass. The silky texture, verve and elegance of this wine is quite apparent as black fruits mingle with chocolate, tar and herbal undertones. Showing some seriously good terroir, this beautiful wine is outstanding in its youth and will evolve well over the next decade.
