The 2006 Torre Muga is absolutely sensational. It bursts open with wonderful aromas of blackberry, dark plum, exotic spices, flowers, tobacco, espresso and cedar. It is full-bodied and dense with incredibe concentration and velvety, yet firm, well-integrated tannins that lead to the ultra-long finish. This was aged for 6 months in wooden vats, 18 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. Tempranillo 75%, Mazuelo 15%, Graciano 10%. Give this some time in the cellar and you shall be rewarded. Very possibly the best Torre Muga I ever had. (Drink 2015-2032) - October, 2012 (JD)
