The 2016 'Licenciado' Rioja Reserva begins with deep aromas of black cherries, dark plums, vanilla, sweet toasted spices that all emerge from the glass. The palate is full-bodied and nice overall balance with a plush texture, showing moderate tannins. This is drinking incredibly well now but also has the potential to offer a driking window that spans another decade.
