The 2004 'Vina Tondonia' Reserva is another impressive release. While the oak treatment is strong, it does not overwhelm the wine. Aged considerably upon release, it is hard to believe that this lively effort is more than ten years old. The wine begins with aromatics reminiscent of red cherry, dill, red bell pepper, prune and allspice. The intense aromatics of this wine bring you back to the glass continually. On the palate there are flavors of red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate along with anise and leather framed by light tannins, alongside the lively acidity. This continues to impress until the very end as it seamlessly glides to the long and lingering finish. There is a long, bright future ahead. (Best 2016-2036) - June, 2016 (OB)
