In the 2016 Vintage, winemaker James Sparks blended the Golden Slope using fruit from Clos Pepe (23%), Ritas Crown (23%), Bentrock (19%), La Rinconada (13%), Kessler-Haak (13%) and Zotovich (9%). The result is a simply fascinating Chardonnay that is ripe and extremely delicious. It opens with gorgeous aromas of fresh sliced apples, tangerine, fresh herbs, honey, and flower blossoms all developing beautifully in the glass. It demonstrates wonderful balance, with gorgeous freshness, and pure fruit, all underlined by a vibrant acidity on the finish. This is showing simply incredible upon release, and should continue to drink marvelously with some additional bottle age.
