The Sanford Benedict Pinot Noir from Chanin is a simply stunning showing in 2016. This begins with seductive aromas of black raspberries and red cherries, coupled with fresh lavender, sweet spice and a dusty mineral character. On the palate this has medium-plus body with a beautifully textured mouth feel and remarkable depth. I love ripe juicy red fruits and earthy flavors which expand through the long, elegant finish. While this already outstanding, it will undoubtedly continue to evolve for many years to come. A sensational job from winemaker Gavin Chanin on this beautiful Pinot Noir.
